United are guaranteed a spot in the Champions League next term, but it would be a huge disappointment now to finish outside of the top two having spent only two days below second in the table all season.
They need a maximum of four more points to put themselves out of reach of Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, and they will be looking to take three of those against Brighton & Hove Albion in Friday night’s clash at Amex Stadium.
Man Utd injuries
Sergio Romero continues to be unavailable with a knee injury, while there could be a late call on Phil Jones after he missed out on the matchday squad against Arsenal last week. Romelu Lukaku is the main concern though after he limped out of the victory over Arsenal with a foot problem following a collision with Konstantinos Mavropanos. The Belgian should be available, but could still be given the night off to allow him extra time to recover ahead of the closing Premier League matches and the FA Cup final against Chelsea.
Man Utd Suspensions
With Leicester City’s Marc Albrighton the only suspended player across the entire Premier League, there are no disciplinary worries for either United or Brighton. The season’s final yellow card amnesty has also put paid to any concerns over players of either club being banned for subsequent fixtures.
Man Utd Potential Starting Line-Up
Mourinho could go with a largely familiar line-up and save his juggling for next Thursday’s trip to West Ham United as he decides how best to prepare his players for the FA Cup final in two weeks’ time.
There may be a recall for Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to give Romelu Lukaku extra time to get over the foot injury which forced him off on Sunday, while there could be changes further back if the manager decides to rest the likes of Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia or Ashley Young. Any alterations in midfield are likely to benefit Marouane Fellaini, who grabbed the late winner on Sunday.

Brighton Team News
It says a huge amount about the wonderful job done by Brighton and their manager Chris Hughton this season that they have received little mention in the conversation regarding relegation for the majority of the campaign. A win on Friday would mathematically secure them a second successive campaign in the Premier League with two games to spare.
They have based their success on a sturdy back four led by Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy, but the great work done higher up by Glenn Murray and Pascal Gross has been key. Murray has netted 12 times in the league so far, while Gross has proven to be a tremendous signing with his six goals and eight assists.
Even if Brighton cannot upset the form book to beat United it would take a freak sequence of results to see them dragged into the relegation pciture, and a team who have troubled United a couple of times already this season at Old Trafford will almost certainly be back for more next term.
